Delivery Captain

The Delivery Captain position is a support role for all aspects of our day to day business revolving around sales and service. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience operating boats of various sizes, have good communication skills, and enjoy dealing with people. The Delivery Captain reports to both the Sales and Service Managers and is expected to assist with inventory including cleaning, minor rigging and mechanical work, staging, picture taking, and boat show setups. It is the Delivery Captain's responsibility to conduct orientations with customers to teach them about their new boat, motor, trailer and accessories including product information, service schedules, and safe boating practices. This person is required to complete all training and continuously learn and adapt to new and changing products. He/She delivers boats to customers both on-site and off-site as well as move boats between multiple store locations.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Projects a professional and knowledgeable image
• Drives boats to and from various dealerships
• Delivers boats to customers
• Perform minor engine and systems repairs and adjustments as needed
• Inspect company-owned vessels in water and maintains a log of hours and fuel levels
• Trains sales staff on boat handling and safety
• Possesses adequate product knowledge to answer customer questions
• Properly explains features and operation of boat
• Demonstrates additional boating merchandise such as aftermarket communication and navigational equipment
• Works with sales and service to establish a date of delivery to the customer and arranges the delivery to a specified location
• Shows product at our dealership, off-site events, and demos on the water
• Professionally supports customer events
• Assist service and customer in diagnosing minor issues to determine if it's operator error or product defect
• Conducts periodic training classes to help reinforce our customers' boating passion
